We are used to thinking that natural disasters are either God's punishment, when we remember Sodom and Gomorrah, or it is a completely unconnected occurrence, a natural disaster. But the question we have is why are more and more natural disasters are occurring?
A woman wrote to me asking about the reasons of the earthquake in Turkey and wrote that the Turkish are good people with a strong value placed in the family. They have faith, and after this terrible earthquake a lot of love and compassion have been displayed as people have united, made sacrifices and offered mutual assistance. It is through such events that God heals us and saves our souls.
In expressing my opinion I will try to keep it brief. There are 3 different approaches to explaining the earthquake. First of all it can be seen as a natural disaster. While the scientists tell us that the Earth as a body is cooling down, meaning that there should in fact be less earthquakes, the reality is that we are now seeing a rapid increase in the number of earthquakes. This is the opposite.
Another approach is to look at the earthquake as God's punishment. The question then arises, why did God punish Turkey and Syria? Scientists are warning that there might be a powerful earthquake in future in Israel with the result that tens of thousands people will die. Where is God's punishment in this case?
The other explanation is a technogenic one which scientists say is almost impossible.
Let us start by considering the first two versions to see if they are connected.
Can man's culpability have an influence on worldwide events? That is earthquakes, natural disasters, pandemics etc?
The Bible says there is such a connection.
That humanity, with its sinful traits, must be punished and this punishment can take many forms.
Can this be the case?
I will look at several factors which show how the state of a person's soul is manifested in the state of the Earth.
