Reader's question: I've had psoriasis since I was 22. While studying at medical school, I wanted to become the Minister of Health, nothing less. Now, such thoughts no longer bother me. But the psoriasis remains. What should I do?

Sergey Nikolaevich's answer: You have a subconscious aggression towards people around 800 units. The focus on a prosperous fate, principles, and ideals is 10 times higher than the dangerous level. Notice: you were studying at a medical institute, dreaming of becoming both a doctor and an official, i.e., managing people, implementing your goals and will through them, to feel even more the significance of your human "I." You try to control any situation far more than is permissible. Understand, it's impossible to control people. On an inner level, trying to control a person, you're trying to control the Universe and God. And that leads to diseases and death, as a hindrance to an unnatural process.
We don't control; through us, control is exercised. We don't act; through us, actions are taken.
The more Divine within me and the more my desires match my Divine "I," the greater the possibilities open up for my human "I." The human "I" can only control at the most superficial level. And such an aspiration is not only safe but necessary. If irritation, judgment, or dissatisfaction arises while managing, it means you're trying to control not only externally but also internally. The more Divine in your desires, the more effortlessly they are realized. The more human focus in your feelings, the harder and more painfully they manifest in life, and the more bitterness and problems arise for the person later.
First and foremost, we control the world through our inner state. By focusing on Divine love, we can easily fulfill all our desires. If the human obscures the Divine, then any of our desires will be pushed through hatred and blood. Try to give up all forms of controlling other people for a while. Start by following a simple rule: never justify yourself to anyone and never blame anyone for anything.
Until new feelings arise, try to control the world only with love. Change yourself inside, and the situation and the world around you will change. Start with small things and try to handle them.
*****
A good acquaintance of mine called me recently.
«You know, I almost died yesterday», he said. «I had a severe injury and was unconscious for an hour. You saved my life again. If you hadn't called a few days ago and told me things were bad, I wouldn't have worked on myself and could now be disabled or dead.»
«You don't understand one thing», I said. You pray, forgive everyone, ready to give up what you have at any moment, but at the same time, you're trying to deeply control other people. You have thousands of people under you, and you want to reshape people in your own image and likeness, supposedly wishing them well. And when it doesn't work out, you constantly flare up with irritation and dissatisfaction with their «incorrect and stupid actions». The inner state of a leader is much more important than any of his actions. Any action is a lever. And a person's inner state determines whether this lever will crush you or help you rise to the top.
«So what should I do now?» he asked. «Not manage people?»
Manage, but do it correctly. First, improve your inner state. You can manage a person externally, but not internally. In managing, you should not make people dependent on you. Hang three slogans on your wall.
«Okay, okay, okay», I hear over the phone, «slow down, I'm writing».
«First — every person has the right to be unlike me.»
«Second — every person has their own destiny.»
«Third — every person is managed by God.»
The human develops as long as the Divine is visible within it. And as much as our actions are primarily determined by love for God, the desire to increase this love, so much we make our body, situation, and the world around us beautiful.
