By changing in the present, we create a new future

I'm distracted by a knock at the door. A man enters with his daughter. I remember them; they were at a consultation before. I don't remember what their problem was, so I diagnose anew.

«Unfortunately, I have to disappoint you», I say. «The girl's readiness to undergo a traumatizing situation is minimal. The turmoil of sensual happiness still doesn't pass. I don't see any results of the work yet».

The father gently corrects me: you know, we've been working intensely all these months, and changes, at least external ones, are already happening. Before seeing you, my daughter was studying in a school for the mentally retarded and couldn't interact with boys. But now, she's in a regular school and has a friend.

I feel uncomfortable. Externally, the situation is indeed better than I expected. But if the parameters are unimportant, then the secret lies in the children and grandchildren. Their emotions do not allow them to go through stressful situations with love.

«Now the most interesting work begins for you», I say. «To help your descendants, you need to remove aggression towards them, that is, to remove aggression towards the future. To do this, you need to overcome dependence on the future. Dependence on the present manifests itself in aggression towards others. Dependence on the future — primarily through aggression towards oneself».

Fears, doubts, despondency, anticipation, irritability — these are all signs of dependence on the future. The future is overcome by maintaining love for God amidst the collapse of the future and the maximum energy output. If you expect something from the future, it means you have already stopped giving and begun to take. And the more you wait for something from the future, the more you try to suck energy from it. Naturally, you won't receive this future. We get the future we saturate with energy. You can dream about the future, but you can't expect anything from it. The more I expect from another person, the more I depend on them and the more I will be offended by them.

In principle, an offended person is a vampire. Offensiveness, heightened demands on other people — these are signs of a lack of energy. Therefore, at the moment of any unpleasantness from other people, one should strive for a feeling of love. It gives energy for one's own change and resolution of the conflict. If, however, in conflict, we take offense at another, then we lose energy, and such a conflict becomes irresolvable.

The father and daughter leave, and I wait for the next patient. And then the thought occurs to me: the past changes. It really changes after the consultation. Actually, it's quite logical: if the past changes, the future should change too. I always used to compare the current state of the patient with their state before the consultation and draw conclusions. But then I consulted a mother and daughter.

The girl began to have very good changes. And I somehow decided to look and compare her state. I had looked at her in the past several times, but forgot how it looked. So, I habitually delve into the past again and try to take information about her state before the consultation, and my head starts to hurt. I detect a flash of the self-destruction program in my field. I diagnose with very serious violations. This is dangerous. I need to immediately figure out what's going on. And I understood: her state had already changed before the consultation, and I, remembering the usual picture, tried to restore it and thus destroyed her present and future. It turns out that through prayer addressed to God, one can not only change oneself. Simultaneously, the past and future change. That's why even the most hardened sinners, turning to God, received forgiveness, that is, a new destiny. The past ceased to affect them because it became different. There is no such concept in the Indian notion of karma. Everything you have done — you must work off. You cannot change. If you're rich, you're destined to be rich, it's your karma, it's your caste. If you're smart — that's how you, your children, and your grandchildren will be; if you're a sinner — so will your descendants.

Ten thousand years ago, such a view of things was just and contributed to the development of society. What character a person received from birth, from their parents, with that they continued to exist. Five thousand years ago, such a view of things ceased to be immutable. Two thousand years ago, it was questioned. Jesus Christ destroyed the usual notion of human destiny. But to this day, official science asserts: «It is impossible to change character». Without faith in God, indeed it is impossible. But that character changes, I see by the patients.
