If you think about it, the phrase that the 20th century is the century of ideological struggle is entirely accurate. We are now witnessing competition and, essentially, a fight to the death that is happening between the Western world and Russia, which, despite its imperfections, is trying to uphold moral principles. In Russia, the church is currently not a guarantor of morality. The political structure is not a guarantor of the right goals, the courts and law enforcement are not guarantors of order. But in Russia, there is an understanding of the need for morality, spirituality, ideology, and order. This need, which is much higher than in the West, can lead to the flourishing of Russia and the emergence of new prospects for its development.
Currently, two ideas, two logics are fighting in the world: the Western, based on the logic of Judaism, to which Catholicism has started to return, moving away from Orthodoxy and losing its strength, and the Russian, based on the tendencies of Christianity. It's possible to talk about the opposition and conflict between two ideas - Judaism and Christianity. But the main problem is that in reality, they are neither Judaism nor Christianity.
In Judaism, there were two tendencies: the tendency to worship God and the Law - that is, the commandments, and the tendency to worship the "golden calf," that is, one's instincts. The latter tendency won. The fact that gay parades are held in the capital of a country whose main law is the sacred book (Torah) testifies that people internally have stopped praying to God and started praying to the «golden calf».
Christianity, represented by Orthodoxy and Catholicism, ceased to be Christianity already in the first centuries AD because pagan thinking began to win. Accordingly, Christ's mission as the Savior was presented in a completely pagan aspect, as a sacrifice - taking on others' sins. But Christ taught something entirely different - he taught how to overcome sin, not how to get rid of sin by transferring it to someone else. Essentially, a distorted Christian idea is fighting with pseudo-Judaism. And this can only end in the destruction of both because neither of these versions is viable. In both, pagan thinking won.
When people move to monotheism, when the commandments of Judaism and the commandments of Christianity become primary and unite in dialectical unity, when people understand that the commandments of Christ and the commandments of Moses speak of the same thing - only then can the right concept be created, bringing not destruction but salvation to humanity. When people understand and feel that Judaism and Christianity, Catholicism and Orthodoxy are united - not in form, but in essence, that God is one, that the laws of soul development are universal, then the main conflict leading to the destruction of the planet and our civilization will be resolved. Because the most severe and dangerous conflict is the religious conflict. It's easy to change a person's lifestyle, harder to change customs, even harder to change ideology. It's practically impossible to change a person's religious views.
Current humanity is reaching a stage where deep, internal changes must occur, moving the current civilization from a pagan system of coordinates to monotheism. But many still do not understand this. And to this day, many do not understand Christ's phrase, which neither theologians nor priests can explain - «Blessed are the poor in spirit». And there is not much time left.
