Love is the greatest force in the universe. A suffering soul should turn to love. When a soul strives to protect the body or spirit, it forgets about God, loses love, and is doomed to fail.
A moral person may lose initially, but they will always win in the end. Therefore, throughout the history of humanity, those nations whose ideology and religion did not promote morality and love for the Creator have inevitably perished. Ideology governs relationships between people, while religion teaches how to relate to God. An immoral civilization is not viable.
Scientists are now finding more evidence of previous civilizations on Earth and are making the most fantastic assumptions about the reasons for their disappearance. However, they invariably attribute it to material causes: a falling asteroid, glaciation, wars, famine.
Meanwhile, scientists stubbornly forget that the field is primary in relation to matter, that the subconscious is primary in relation to consciousness, and that it is the subtle spiritual planes that determine the health and physical existence of every person, including their future.
If morality is lost, love inevitably leaves the soul. If love is lost, the future disappears. If a person has no future, they may have an accident, they may end their life by suicide, they may contract an incurable disease without visible causes. They could be killed without any reason. Their immunity may simply drop to zero, and after that, any disease becomes fatal for them.
The same happens to civilizations. If a civilization has no future, epidemics may begin, wars may erupt, cataclysms may occur, or at some point, women may simply stop having children. An asteroid might arrive at the right time and exterminate such a civilization.
Material causes are irrelevant here since they are actually the result. If a disaster occurs in the soul, it is inevitable that it will manifest externally. I remember answering journalists' questions in the Czech Republic: «What is happiness?» and «What is the meaning of life?»
In fact, the concept of happiness is closely linked to a person's main goal. The meaning of life is the realization of the main inner direction. If a person has a purpose in life, they gain strength. And when that purpose is realized, a sense of happiness emerges. Without a purpose, no living being can survive—it simply loses energy.
When a person lacks strategic goals, the meaning of life and happiness for them become food, sex, protected territory—essentially, the person gradually turns into an animal. To hide in one's burrow, to eat, and to reproduce—this is the main happiness for an animal.
For an animal to intuitively strive and go to God, it needs a constant threat to life, continuous torment, suffering, and loss. If the main goal for people is the satisfaction of instincts, such a society is doomed to violence, wars, suffering, and injustice.
If people worship the body, such a society quickly follows the path of Sodom and Gomorrah. If the main thing for people becomes spiritual development, well-being, power, money, abilities—such a society will live longer and perish more slowly.
Only a society in which the main life goal for each person is unity with God can be truly viable.
In such a society, people, in order to approach God and become like Him, must develop such moral qualities as continuous love in the soul, mercy, sincerity, care, generosity, the ability to restrain instincts, the aspiration for development, a sense of unity with all people on Earth.
When there is a clear understanding of where to go, when a person continuously feels the need for love, strives to give love and energy every second, then all other spiritual qualities align in the right order.
Diet, lifestyle, behavior, thoughts, feelings—when the main goal is properly set, they begin to change for the better.
As soon as unity with God ceases to be the main goal and main happiness, our feelings and thoughts begin to degrade imperceptibly and elusively, followed by our character and lifestyle.
The more actively a person strives towards an animalistic state, the more misfortunes and diseases they must receive in order to save their soul. We came from God; we are part of the Creator. On the external level, we increasingly strive towards Him and become like Him. We are what we aspire to. It remains to understand this and feel it. And then—to fulfill it.
