The Double Bottom of the Instinct for Self-Preservation
Human nature boils down to two instincts: the instinct of procreation and the instinct of self-preservation, which are the guarantors of human survival. However, the instinct of self-preservation has a double bottom, two levels of power: the protection of life, the physical body—and the protection of the spiritual body, which exists after death. That is, through the instinct of self-preservation, both the sin of the devil and the sin of Adam can manifest.
The instinct of procreation is the most powerful instinct that any living being subconsciously places above the instinct of self-preservation. But while this instinct is connected to life in the physical body, the instinct of self-preservation goes beyond life. The instinct of self-preservation is not only the instinct that protects life; it is the instinct to control the surrounding world. This instinct persists even when a person dies.
The physical structure is destroyed, but the field structure continues to live because life first appeared precisely as a field structure. The outer layers are destroyed, but the basic structures continue to exist. The inner desire to organize the world around oneself is less noticeable but more dangerous. This is why the parable of the devil speaks of a spiritual being without a body but with a desire to subjugate the surrounding world.
The greatest temptation for a person is the willingness to place the instinct of self-preservation above love. When there is such a willingness, the sense of unity with God and unity with the entire world is destroyed. Whoever loses the sense of unity with God inevitably loses the sense of unity with people. And when this unity is absent, the desire to suppress others appears, and the fear of losing one's power and destroying one's instinct of self-preservation grows. A person becomes more aggressive. The desire to suppress others and the fear of similar people increase.
I have long tried to answer the question of why the gene pool of Russia was exterminated a hundred years ago. The best—smartest, most energetic, and spiritual people were killed. Aristocrats, intellectuals, wealthy peasants.
There is a simple truth: as soon as we try to find the guilty, the possibility of understanding the essence of past or present events disappears. The search for the guilty closes the possibility of uniting opposites. If someone is guilty, why should I change? If the guilty one is found, will a person seek the cause within themselves?
If the Bolsheviks are guilty of the murder of priests, aristocrats, and intellectuals—why think about why it happened? We found the guilty, and the cognition stopped.
To understand the essence of any process, we need to understand that there are no guilty parties, but there is a pattern of events. Why was the gene pool of the country exterminated? Perhaps for the first time in human history, the smartest, most spiritual people were deliberately destroyed. Over time, I found the answer to this question.
Spirituality, knowledge, intellect, penetrating subtle planes without love for God, without faith, without a sense of humility and acceptance of Divine will—this is a path to nowhere. It always ends with the degradation of the soul and devilishness. The more spiritual a person is, the more dangerous this state is for them when losing faith in God and love in the soul. It can be said that the Kingdom of God began approaching our civilization about a hundred years ago. Any event repeats over time, gradually increasing its intensity.
Before any physical event, waves go on a subtle plane, and the event partially happens in the form of signs, first in a weakened version, then in versions increasingly close to full-scale.
Why have people in the last hundred years abandoned spirituality, why do they live grounded lives? Of course, people can be blamed for sinfulness, selfishness. It can be said that this is their nature. But apparently, this spontaneous process of losing nobility and spirituality is simply a subconscious desire to survive. When a person feels that spirituality is dangerous and fatal, they have two paths: either to rise above it through love and faith in God or to abandon it, descending to the material aspects of happiness. Apparently, this is what is happening with our civilization.
This probably explains the cult of consumerism and the sexual revolution that began in the 1960s. The cult of consumerism, the cult of things, the cult of money and profit—these are the consequences of worshiping the instinct of self-preservation. The worship of sex and the loss of morality, the destruction of families—these are the consequences of worshiping the instinct of procreation.
Why have instincts come to the forefront? Because faith in God has weakened. Why has faith in God weakened? Because the notions of God were incorrect. This is not a crisis of faith but a crisis of incorrect notions about faith in God.
Start with simple things: stop condemning and blaming yourself, people, and your fate. Problems are given to us to solve, not to find the guilty. Find someone to empathize with and care for. Caring is one of the manifestations of love...
