The Fulcrum on the Path to God
A young man sits in front of me, facing a rather serious problem.
I explain to him that his soul has become attached to wisdom.
He prays and through repentance removes hatred toward others, as well as self-condemnation.
Today, he has come for a second session, but structures of self-condemnation are still clearly visible in his energy field.
«You haven’t fully let go of your grievances against yourself.»
«How can I let go of grievances against myself if I’m the one to blame, and others have nothing to do with it? I’m imperfect—how can I not blame myself?»
«Understand one simple truth,» I explain,
«Perfection and imperfection are given and taken away; you cannot identify yourself with them.
On a subtle level, every person, no matter who they are, is above such concepts as perfection and imperfection.
These are material concepts, and the material is subject to change and destruction.
If you call yourself wise and feel joy from it not only outwardly but also inwardly, you become attached to wisdom.
This means there will be a situation where you call yourself a fool, begin to hate and condemn yourself, and as a result, you’ll end up with illness or death.
A person is a dialectical being, made up of two opposites: a Divine core, at the level of which there are no concepts of perfection or imperfection, strength or weakness—and a core connected to the material, which, unlike the first, is constantly breaking down and for which the concepts of strength and weakness, perfection and imperfection are essential.
The more we strive toward Earth, the more we must also strive toward God, and vice versa.
It is easier to strive toward Earth than toward God, which is why there must be a system of priorities.
The fulcrum should not rest on earthly goods, either visible or material; a person should not rely on invisible goods connected with earthly life either.
When we try to place our fulcrum on what seems stable, on what extends beyond a single life, on the earthly values of the third level, we are also making a mistake.
The fulcrum can only be on love for God. That is what gives a person true happiness.»
